Edney Blackaby, a former Manuka rover, was on hand with wife Suellen to be inducted into the Legends’ Club. Edney, or Tracker as he is known, was born in Tasmania and moved to Canberra in 1970 as a 19 year old.

He won the Manuka Best & Fairest in 1970, 1971, 1972, 1974 and 1979 – winning the Mulrooney Medal in 1977. Edney represented the ACT throughout the 1970’s before moving to Western Australia to play with Swan Districts in the early 1980’s.

“Tracker” was an integral member of the club’s 1971, 73, 74, 75 and 77 premierships, being Captain Coach of the 1977 success. Edney was named first rover in the ACT team of the Century in 2000 and in 2006 was inducted into the AFL Canberra Hall of Fame – with Legend Status.

Roger Duffy passed away in 2002, however, the 1954 Footscray premiership player and Eastlake Legend was represented by son Alan (himself a great former player), daughter Karen and former wife Dot.

Roger played with Eastlake as Captain Coach from 1959 – 1964 winning the Best & Fairest award in 1959, 1960 and 1961 and guiding the club to premierships in 1960, 1962, 1963 and 1964. He continued on as Coach after retiring at the completion of the 1964 season and went on to coach the club to further premiership success in 1965 and 1966. Roger was awarded life membership in 1979.

Roger was named on the half forward flank and Captain Coach of the ACT Team of the Century in 2000 and in 2006 was inducted into the AFL Canberra Hall of Fame – with Legend Status.
